ABOUT MY LIFE
I am a wife and a momma to two beautiful children, ages 1 & 3. Our lives our busy, fun and full of love. I wouldn't have it any other way! I am also a believer in Christ and a lover of peace. Aren't those supposed to be one in the same? I love to paint, write, read, watch movies and spend lots and lots of time with my sweet family. Creating things is medicinal to me. I love the the release of energy that comes from putting something together with my own hands. Fashion, to me, is one incredible, expression of art and so naturally, I'm obsessed with it. I get a good little high from finding the perfect earring...to go with a vintage dress...to go with those fabulous shoes. Even simple and basic fashion can be lovely and thought out.
WHY NOONDAY
My favorite part of the Noonday mission is it's ability to help women get empowered. I have a soft heart for the plight of females who are faced with challenges that are defined by and unique to their gender. The sad truth is that many women around the world are not able to support themselves or their families. This can lead to unsuitable living conditions, illness or worse. The pain that I know so many women, from the young girls of India to the mothers of Guatamala, are facing on a day to day basis, pains me too. When I learned about Noonday I found that making a difference is possible! The purchases made through this company are going to directly affect these otherwise impovershed women and in turn give resources and hope back in to the hands of the artisans, their families and their community.
- The pretty bracelet becomes more than a few beads... it becomes the rent that a women can pay to keep her family sheltered and safe.
- The earrings become more than hoops...they become the food and clean water that a woman can afford.
- The scarf becomes more than a fashion statement... it becomes the dreams of an education coming true.
